Private Residence Addition

An addition to a small single family home adds a mainlevel bedroom suite and expanded kitchen while creating a private rear yard space between the two additions. The simple form and wonderful texture of the cedar shingles of the existing house provided inspiration for the design of the additions. The texture of the cedar shingles generates a window composition that provides a sense of privacy from within while bringing in the visual interest of the exterior as oak floor boards clad the interior surface of the wall surrounding the custom windows.
